Pop Thoughts / Invoice Software South Africa / PopPay for SA SMEs
PopPay for South African SMEs — and if you already use Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
This URL used to be a head-to-head. We took the table down. Google still sends people here, so here is what PopPay actually does: R0/month invoices and quotes, EFT plus proof upload, and an optional card payment link. We do not claim to beat Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks on price or features.
What PopPay actually does
PopPay — R0/month, built for South African SMEs
PopPay is R0/month invoice and quote software for South African SMEs. It is not a full ledger. It does not file VAT. A tax practitioner still signs off.
- Invoices and quotes with SARS-aware fields and sequential numbers.
- Put your bank details on the invoice. The client can pay by EFT and upload proof so you can review the match.
- You can add a payment link so a customer can pay by card. Not every invoice has one. Hosted bank checkout is not on.
- Share the invoice yourself on whatever channel you already use. PopPay does not send WhatsApp or SMS for you.
- Export a CSV or PDF for your accountant. There is no live Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks sync.
If you already use Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
Those products are accounting systems. Many SA accountants already work in one of them. That is a good reason to keep them for the books.
You can still invoice in PopPay and send a PDF or CSV to your accountant. They do not sync. Do not move your ledger because a blog post said PopPay is cheaper. We are not publishing competitor prices, and we are not running a vs table.
Talk to your accountant about which system holds the official books. Use PopPay when the job in front of you is an invoice or a quote, your bank details on the document, and a proof screenshot to review.
What this page will not do
- No head-to-head feature table.
- No price-versus-Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- No “saves you thousands a year” claim.
- No live accounting sync.
- No in-WhatsApp send, voice-to-invoice, or hosted bank checkout.
